We are seeking an experienced Spanish language curriculum reviewer to provide expert feedback on a three-semester high school Spanish curriculum and lesson plan sequence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in linguistics or a related field, along with substantial teaching and curriculum development experience in U.S. high schools.
Responsibilities:
– Review and evaluate a three-semester Spanish curriculum for alignment with U.S. high school standards.
– Ensure curriculum aligns with ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) guidelines.
– Assess lesson pacing, scope and sequence, language progression, and cultural integration.
– Provide constructive feedback and recommendations for improvement.
– Highlight strengths and identify potential gaps in instruction.
Qualifications:
– Master’s degree or higher in Linguistics, Spanish, Education, or a related field (preferred).
– Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in U.S. high school Spanish classrooms.
– Strong familiarity with ACTFL proficiency guidelines and world language pedagogy.
– Prior experience in curriculum design, review, or evaluation strongly preferred.
– Excellent written communication skills and ability to provide detailed, professional feedback.
Project Details:
– Scope: Review of approximately 150 lesson materials.
– Deliverables: A written review/report with clear recommendations.
– Timeline: Flexible, to be discussed and agreed upon.
– Participate in occasional Zoom consultations or meetings to discuss feedback and recommendations.
