Staff Backend Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Staff Backend Software Engineer to lead the development of scalable infrastructure for wallet-based applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable backend systems and APIs for wallet and identity infrastructure
• Architect and enforce secure systems that adhere to best practices in cryptography, key management, and access control
• Collaborate with product, design, and frontend teams to deliver seamless, secure user experiences

Required Qualifications

• 7 to 10+ years of backend engineering experience with a proven track record of designing and scaling large-scale systems
• Highly proficient in Node.js, Express.js, and TypeScript
• Experience leading architecture decisions for production-grade APIs, particularly for identity, authentication, or payment systems
• Familiarity with authentication protocols (OAuth, JWT, etc.), encryption, key management, and access control
• Experience mentoring engineers and establishing engineering best practices
