Job Summary

A company is looking for a Clinical Coding Appeals Author.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret medical records to appeal denied and underpaid claims
• Draft well-structured and persuasive appeal letters utilizing coding guidelines
• Ensure timely completion of appeals to meet compliance deadlines

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license
• Active AHIMA or AAPC Coding Certification (e.g., CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CCA, CPC-A, CPC-H, CPMA, CIC, CDI, CDIP)
• Experience with hospital documentation including medical records and UB-04s
• Proficiency in basic computer skills
• Knowledge of ICD-9/10 CM & PCS, CPT, HCPCS, and NCCI guidance
