Carbon Markets Project Manager

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Project Manager - Carbon Markets to provide technical assistance and capacity building support on carbon markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the implementation of the High-Integrity Carbon Markets Initiative (HICMI) to support developing countries in attracting finance for NDC implementation
• Provide strategic leadership, ensure project compliance, and coordinate with Country Offices for effective project execution
• Facilitate capacity building and knowledge sharing on carbon markets, including conducting workshops and developing technical resources

Required Qualifications

• Advanced university degree (master's) in Environmental Engineering, Technology, Finance, Political Sciences, Economics, or a related field, or a bachelor's degree with additional qualifying experience
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience (9 years with a bachelor's degree) in establishing carbon markets and managing related projects
• Proven ability to manage complex projects in international organizations with multiple funding sources
• Strong knowledge of Article 6 UNFCCC decisions and independent carbon crediting programs
• Fluency in English is required; professional knowledge of Spanish, Portuguese, or French is highly desirable
