Data Scientist Consultant

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Data Scientist Consultant to develop and enhance forecasting models for electric utility clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Support internal teams in developing models for actionable forecasts related to Demand Response and Distributed Energy Resource programs
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends and actionable insights for energy and climate-focused programs
• Design and validate predictive models and collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into analytical solutions

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field
• 3-6+ years of relevant professional experience in a data scientist or analytics role, preferably in the energy industry
• Knowledge of regression models and performance metrics (e.g., R2, MSE, RMSE, MAPE)
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience in machine learning and data science libraries
• Experience with building predictive models and familiarity with energy markets or grid optimization is a plus
