Director of Cloud Engineering

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Director of Cloud & Platform Engineering to lead and scale their SRE and Core Platform Services teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Shape the strategy and technical direction of cloud infrastructure for reliability, scalability, security, and cost efficiency
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver developer experiences and modern DevOps practices
• Oversee projects within the domain, making risk-based tradeoff decisions and collaborating with engineering leaders

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years in software engineering, with 10+ in engineering leadership roles
• 10+ years leading DevOps, SRE, Developer Experience, Infrastructure, or Platform Engineering teams in a SaaS environment
• 8+ years working with cloud providers, primarily AWS
• Experience managing managers and building cloud-native tooling and frameworks
• Proven success in ownership of cloud architecture and environment management
