Lead Database Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Lead Database Engineer to manage database initiatives and optimize data processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the management of PostgreSQL databases, focusing on backups, security, and performance tuning
• Identify and resolve complex database performance issues while implementing optimization techniques
• Oversee the development and optimization of shell scripts for ETL processes and data integration

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's Degree preferred
• Advanced experience in managing and optimizing PostgreSQL databases; experience with other DBMS considered
• Proficiency in Linux environments and shell scripting for database operations
• Knowledge of Snowflake and its integration within database systems
• In-depth experience with cloud services, particularly AWS and Azure, for database migration
