Metadata Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Metadata Specialist to support the NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information in data stewardship.

Key Responsibilities

• Document new or revised archive projects and provide weekly status reports
• Coordinate archive implementation with stakeholders and assist in data set readiness reviews
• Maintain metadata standards and develop Data Stewardship Maturity Model assessments

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in a related field or equivalent practical experience
• 2 to 4 years of experience in a related area
• Knowledge of data formats such as XML, JSON, and NetCDF
• Experience working with metadata standards like ISO 19115
• Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira and Google Docs
