Michigan Licensed Financial Controller

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Financial Controller to lead its accounting department remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly closing processes and ensure accurate, GAAP-compliant financial statements
• Review and verify financial data for accuracy, including entries, postings, and reconciliations
• Prepare and analyze reports, trends, and forecasts to support business decision-making

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA certification a plus
• 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with expertise in GAAP compliance, budgeting, and forecasting
• Experience overseeing accounting operations within a mid-sized to large organization (100+ employees)
• Extensive hands-on experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software, plus knowledge of MS Excel
• Familiarity with business intelligence tools and ability to prepare accurate financial reports and forecasts
