Job Summary
A company is looking for a Principal Fuel Performance and Development Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thermo-mechanical analysis of fuel rods and core components to support design and testing activities
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure fuel and absorber designs meet objectives
- Develop fuel and material models and create technical documentation for reactor design and licensing
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Nuclear, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in fuel performance modeling or thermo-mechanical analysis
- Strong skills in finite element methods, heat transfer, and behavior of nuclear fuels
- Experience with numerical methods and programming languages such as PYTHON and FORTRAN
- Familiarity with nuclear fuel design methodologies and applicable regulatory requirements
