About the position Responsibilities • Deliver literacy instruction to students following the Science of Reading principles. • Maintain accurate data records of student progress and manage your work schedule through our web-based platform. • Develop trusting relationships with students, parents, and peers. • Self-motivate and practice empathy while remaining committed to individualized learning progress. • Follow lesson plans and cater to student needs, monitoring and recording student progress data. • Be punctual for all tutoring sessions and maintain excellent attendance. • Meet performance standards for all responsibilities related to your role, representing Hoot with professionalism. Requirements • A completed Bachelor’s degree in Education or equivalent is required. • Minimum of 2 years of classroom experience, preferably with Kindergarten to Grade 6. • Successfully complete required criminal background check, child abuse registry check, and FBI fingerprinting (bolthires covered). • Must be located and eligible to work in the United States. • Passion for structured literacy and the Science of Reading. • Reliable laptop/computer, headset, and internet connection are required. • Designated quiet space for a distraction-free work environment. Nice-to-haves • Experience with Special Education Certification is preferred. • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is strongly encouraged.
