Principal Systems Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Principal Systems Engineer to lead complex systems engineering efforts and provide technical direction on advanced electronic and software-intensive systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering tasks related to the development of electronic and software-intensive systems
• Serve as the primary technical consultant for program teams, guiding them on suitable technical approaches
• Mentor junior engineers and oversee architectural design, system performance evaluations, and risk mitigation strategies

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 12 years of experience; or a Master's degree with 8 years; or a PhD with 5 years of experience
• Demonstrated expertise in solving complex engineering problems and developing innovative solutions
• Strong technical leadership experience on complex programs
• Experience with Automated Fare Collection (AFC) and/or Transportation Systems is highly preferred
• Knowledge of industry-standard software and systems tools, including DOORS, EPDM, and All Change
