Engineering Manager - Observability

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Engineering Manager - Observability & Ingest.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and evolve the OTEL ingest pipeline, designing and operating a collector fleet for processing telemetry data
• Lead a team of 6-8 engineers, managing goals, performance evaluations, and hands-on coding
• Design and build real-time stream processing systems for data normalization and routing

Required Qualifications:

• 7+ years of production software development experience, including 1+ years in a management role
• Proven experience with high-throughput data pipelines and streaming technologies
• Experience with OpenTelemetry at scale, including collector pipelines and custom schemas
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Golang, Java, Python, or Scala
• Experience with running data workloads on major cloud providers and using Infrastructure as Code tools
