Key Responsibilities
- Guide the formal naming process for geographic features by evaluating proposals and conducting historical and geospatial research
- Prepare case materials that inform official decisions and assess spatial data using tools like ArcGIS Pro and Google Earth
- Engage with diverse stakeholders to navigate sensitive intergovernmental issues and ensure accurate and transparent naming decisions
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, History, Anthropology, or a related field
- 4-8 years of relevant experience in geography, GIS, historical research, or intergovernmental policy
- Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro, Google Earth, and federal geospatial datasets
- Ability to produce clear, policy-aligned documentation and case briefs
- Experience engaging diplomatically with diverse stakeholders on culturally sensitive issues
