Job Summary
A company is looking for an Assistant General Counsel, Privacy & Regulatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert on privacy and data protection issues across various business functions
- Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable privacy laws and regulations, and provide legal advice on data-driven projects
- Oversee privacy incident response programs and partner with cross-functional teams on regulatory oversight and compliance
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree and bar admission in good standing required; Utah license preferred or ability to obtain upon hire
- 7-10 years of legal practice experience, with a minimum of 3-5 years focused on privacy and regulatory compliance
- Deep understanding of HIPAA, GDPR, and other relevant privacy laws and regulations
- Experience in the diagnostics industry and knowledge of CLIA regulations preferred
- Strong business acumen with the ability to provide practical legal advice
