Advance Authorization Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Advance Authorization Specialist to manage complex authorizations and ensure timely processing of requests related to oncology treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and manage time-sensitive referral work queues for complex authorizations related to oncology treatments
• Handle high-volume stat request mailboxes for urgent oncology treatment and procedures
• Interpret medical records to establish medical necessity for services and manage authorization updates with payors

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or 3 years of authorization experience required
• General knowledge of CPT and HCPCS coding
• Proficiency in medical terminology and clinical considerations related to oncology services
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Epic preferred
• Familiarity with databases, hospital registration, billing, and clinical systems preferred
