Certified Inpatient Medical Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Medical Coder.

Key Responsibilities

• Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes to complex inpatient visit types
• Review provider notes and collaborate with Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) for accurate coding
• Educate CDI on regulatory guidelines and ensure compliance with coding standards

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of three years' experience in Inpatient Coding at an Academic Medical Center
• Accepted certifications include RHIT, RHIA, CCA, CCS, CCS-P, or CPC
• Excellent computer skills for effective communication with providers and staff
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
• Strong organizational skills and adherence to client Standard Operating Procedures
