Certified Risk Adjustment Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Risk Adjustment Coding Specialist (Remote).

Key Responsibilities

• Verify accuracy and completeness of diagnosis codes based on medical documentation
• Identify coding discrepancies and provide insights for quality enhancement and provider education
• Guide and mentor junior coding specialists in determining appropriate coding for complex medical records

Required Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Health Information Technology, Business, or related field, or 2 additional years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree
• 3 years of risk adjustment/hierarchical condition category (HCC) coding experience
• CCS, CPS, CCS-P, or CRC certification upon hire required; RHIT or RHIA preferred
• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Professional, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to adapt to various coding technology platforms, such as EMR or EHR systems
