Insurance Authorization Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Insurance Verification Authorization Specialist Special Service.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and secure financial resources for complex inpatient and outpatient vascular surgeries and procedures
• Verify insurance information, process referrals and prior authorizations, and submit pre-registration information
• Communicate Advance Beneficiary Notice (ABN) and resolve pre-service authorization denials

Required Qualifications

• Two years of experience in pre-authorization, referral coordination, or processing claims for an insurance payor
• Alternative qualifications include two years of insurance billing, admitting, or registration experience in a healthcare setting
• Graduation from a health vocational program with one year of healthcare experience is acceptable
• Proficiency in medical terminology by examination
• Preferred: One year of post-high school business or college coursework and NAHAM certification
