California Licensed General Counsel

Job Summary

A company is looking for a General Counsel to serve as the principal legal advisor, providing strategic guidance on legal matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise the executive team on legal, compliance, and risk-related matters, including corporate governance and contracts
• Oversee company-wide compliance with federal and state regulations and support the development of internal policies
• Manage legal issues related to cybersecurity and intellectual property, and support HR with employment law matters

Required Qualifications

• JD from an accredited U.S. law school and licensed to practice in at least one U.S. state
• At least 10 years of progressive legal experience, preferably in healthcare compliance or corporate governance
• Experience with IT legal issues, including cybersecurity and SaaS agreements
• Proven expertise in healthcare laws such as HIPAA and CCPA
• Familiarity with remote, multi-state organizations and start-up environments is a plus
