About the position
Responsibilities
• Function as an active member of the healthcare team, adhering to hospital safety policies and maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Observe and communicate changes in patient behavior and safety needs to licensed personnel.
• Maintain visual contact with assigned patients at all times and respond to patient requests appropriately.
• Capable of continuous monitoring of assigned patients on one screen, remaining alert and prioritizing situations effectively.
• Communicate with hospital staff and respond quickly to patient behavioral changes, notifying appropriate personnel of emergencies.
• Maintain appropriate documentation as required.
• Effectively communicate with patients using a microphone and headset, utilizing a 2-way audio device.
• Demonstrate safe work practices and attitudes.
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math skills and ability to read, write, and understand directions.
• Effective interpersonal skills and ability to carry out verbal instructions.
• Basic computer operation skills, including Microsoft Windows.
• Observation, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills necessary for patient interaction.
Nice-to-haves
• Previous experience in a clinical or hospital environment.
• Previous direct patient care experience.
• Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
