Job description: ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

– Build positive relationships with drivers to best maximize retention levels, increase on time delivery percentages and achieve top-tier customer service.

– Manage high volume of calls from owner operator, lease purchase, and/or company drivers and prioritize calls.

– Communicate effectively and regularly with customers on issues, delays, etc.

– Receive and dispatch orders for pick-up and delivery.

– Enter data in computer system and maintain logs and records of calls, activities and other information.

– Ensure full compliance with administrative policies and federal and state regulatory compliance to mitigate safety risks and improve efficiency.

– Work one on one with the safety department on driver accidents, etc.

– Keep accurate details on drivers’ trailers, current trailer, dropped trailer, etc.

– Issue advances and comchecks to drivers.

– Report OSD to CSRs and/or claims department.

– Update precise in and out times at shippers and receivers for drivers.

– Other duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

– College degree in related field preferred.

– Previous dispatch experience preferred.

– Knowledge of the Trucking Industry/Refrigerator Transportation a plus.

– Active listener with excellent communication skills.

– Must have sound judgment and critical thinking skills.

– Must be able to recognize when immediate action is necessary and to implement the required actions within a reasonable time.
