About the position
Responsibilities
• Review and pre-review research protocols to ensure compliance with federal, state, and university regulations.
• Provide guidance to researchers on preparing and revising research applications.
• Lead and support major programmatic components of OPHS, including educational outreach and audits.
• Participate in general administrative support of the office, including customer service and meeting support.
• Develop and revise office procedures, policies, and guidelines to enhance compliance.
• Coordinate with other campus compliance units on projects that may be impacted by multiple policies.
• Work on special projects as assigned by the Director.
Requirements
• Demonstrated self-discipline, analytical skills, and sound independent judgment.
• Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and university regulations for the protection of human subjects.
• Working knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research design and scientific research concepts.
• Proficiency in public speaking and writing.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills to prioritize workload and deadlines.
• Ability to work with a diverse range of customers and stakeholders with excellent customer service skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalent experience/training.
• At least two years of relevant experience, preferably in an IRB/HRPP office.
• CIP (Certified IRB Professional) certification to be obtained within 24 months of hiring.
