Job Summary
A company is looking for a Legal Assistant to manage administrative tasks in a litigation environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize electronic and physical case files, monitor litigation calendars, and assist with closing out resolved cases
- Draft, format, and proofread legal documents, prepare exhibits, and coordinate e-filing in court systems
- Schedule depositions and hearings, serve as a point of contact for external parties, and conduct basic legal research as needed
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or certificate in Paralegal Studies preferred; Bachelor's degree is a plus
- 3-5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal in a litigation setting, preferably in insurance defense or personal injury
- Proficiency in e-filing procedures for state and federal courts
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and legal document formatting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal practice management software
