A company is looking for a Verification/Authorization Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
- Review referral information for accuracy in the applicable EMR system
- Obtain authorizations for home care/hospice services from insurance payors while ensuring compliance with confidentiality regulations
- Enter patient benefit and authorization information into the EMR system and respond to inquiries regarding referrals and authorizations
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years' experience in a medical office or home health benefit verification or billing
- Knowledge of commercial insurance carriers' guidelines and criteria for verification, authorization, and reimbursement
- Familiarity with insurance billing and terminology
- Post-secondary education or training in business or medical billing/collections is preferred
