This position reports directly to the VP of Retail Sales. This individual is responsible for driving profitable sales growth through strategic relationship building and execution of comprehensive customer business plans with Walmart and Sam’s Club. The role requires developing and maintaining strong customer partnerships while effectively managing trade investments, broker networks, and delivering data-driven selling presentations to achieve sales objectives and KPI targets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Achieve profitable sales growth by building and executing comprehensive annual customer plans for Walmart and Sam’s Club
• Develop and implement annual business plans with clear objectives and regularly track KPIs to ensure goal attainment
• Utilize syndicated data sources (IRI, Retail Link) and customer-specific data to create compelling, fact-based selling stories and presentations
• Develop accurate sales forecasts and effectively communicate business needs and opportunities to internal stakeholders
• Negotiate pricing, promotions, and trade terms with customers while maintaining profitability targets
• Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key Walmart and Sam’s Club contacts at all organizational levels
• Manage Joint Business Planning (JBP) processes and ensure alignment on mutual goals and initiatives
• Apply creative problem-solving skills to address Walmart and Sam’s Club challenges and identify new business opportunities
• Maintain a sense of urgency in all activities while fostering a collaborative, team-first approach
• Conduct regular business reviews with Walmart and Sam’s Club to assess performance and identify growth opportunities
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
• 2-5 years strategic account management experience, preferably with Walmart and Sam’s Club
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• Excellent negotiation, relationship-building, and communication skills with experience in trade spending and promotional planning
• Experience with Joint Business Planning, broker relationship management, and collaborative customer processes
• Self-motivated team player with strong organizational skills, creative problem-solving abilities, and comfort in fast-paced retail environments
