Job Summary

A company is looking for a Refund Specialist who will manage patient account refunds and communicate with insurance carriers.

Key Responsibilities

• Research patient accounts to determine if payments should be refunded
• Review explanations of benefits and contact insurance carriers for additional information
• Enter adjustments and refunds into the billing system and maintain documentation

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least one year of experience in medical insurance, payment processing, or insurance follow-up
• Thorough knowledge of payment processing functions and related issues
• Familiarity with medical insurance terminology and basic spreadsheet applications
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
