Remote Outpatient Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior Outpatient Coding Specialist (Remote).

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze medical documentation to assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes
• Ensure compliance with ethical coding standards and official coding guidelines
• Maintain knowledge of coding classification systems and relevant regulations

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma required; prior coding experience in ICD-10 CM and HCPCS/CPT coding preferred
• Certifications such as RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC, or CIRCC required or to be completed within 6 months of employment
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT/HCPCS coding systems, and related healthcare regulations
• Preferred education includes an A.S. or B.S. in Health Information Technology or Management
• Familiarity with 3M encoder and Epic systems is preferred
