About the position
Responsibilities
• Greet and check in patients by verifying coverage and eligibility and completing appropriate paperwork.
• Obtain patient history and take vital signs.
• Assist with coordination of care and administer medications.
• Prepare examination rooms and clean/sterilize instruments per protocol.
• Answer telephone calls in compliance with departmental procedures and route calls appropriately.
• Schedule appointments and verify membership according to various benefit coverage.
• Review preprinted instruction sheets with patients.
• Attend department staff meetings and in-service programs.
• Cross-train to new procedures and departments.
Requirements
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or ABR-OE certification required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
• At least 1 year of front and back office experience in a healthcare setting.
• Experience with answering phones and scheduling patients.
• Phlebotomy skills are required.
• Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
• Excellent customer service skills are essential.
• Strong time management skills and ability to work responsibly and reliably.
Nice-to-haves
• Experience in a healthcare setting with a focus on patient care and administrative tasks.
• Flexibility to work varied hours as needed to cover staffing needs.
