Patient Access Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Patient Access Specialist, Float - Local Remote Potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the initial contact for patients and customers, assisting them in person and via telephone
• Complete financial clearance activities prior to patient arrival to enhance the patient experience
• Perform appointment scheduling, referral completion, authorization for visits, pre-registration, and registration

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Minimum education requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent
• Preferred completion of a vocational technical program in health unit coordination, medical office specialist, or related field
• Preferred completion of a medical terminology course
• Preferred knowledge of medical insurance and one year of experience in a healthcare facility with direct patient contact
• No specific certifications or licenses required for this position
