Key Responsibilities
- Verify patient eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations in a timely manner
- Collect and enter demographic and clinical data into the electronic health record
- Communicate with patients, physicians, and insurance companies regarding authorization issues
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent education/experience
- 1 year of recent relevant experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-9)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to exercise discretion and make independent judgments
