Insurance Authorization Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Insurance Verification/Authorization Specialist Special Srvc.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and secure financial resources for complex inpatient and outpatient vascular surgeries and procedures
• Verify insurance information, process referrals and prior authorizations, and obtain pre-registration information
• Communicate Advance Beneficiary Notices and resolve pre-service authorization denials

Required Qualifications

• Two years of experience in pre-authorization, referral coordination, or processing claims for an insurance payor
• Alternatively, two years of insurance billing, admitting, or registration experience in a healthcare setting
• Graduation from a health vocational program with one year of healthcare experience is acceptable
• Two years of customer service experience dealing with the public
• Proficiency in medical terminology and preferred coursework in business or college
