Precertification Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Precertification Specialist to manage pre-authorization for outpatient radiology exams.

Key Responsibilities

• Contact insurance companies and third-party administrators to determine pre-authorization requirements for radiology exams
• Obtain pre-authorization before scheduled services are performed
• Act as a liaison between patients and referring physician offices to gather additional clinical documentation as needed

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Background in healthcare preferred
• Working knowledge of medical billing and managed care
• Experience with eClinicalWorks Practice Management System preferred
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, and staff
• Proficient phone and computer skills
