Authorization Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Advanced Authorization Specialist responsible for obtaining complex authorizations for various medical services.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and manage referral work queues to obtain authorizations for oncology-related treatments and procedures
• Interpret medical records to establish medical necessity and complete online clinical requests for authorizations
• Collaborate with denial management teams to address monthly denials and manage updates with payors

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or 3 years of authorization experience required
• General knowledge of CPT and HCPCS Coding
• Familiarity with medical terminology related to oncology services
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Epic preferred
• Knowledge of databases, hospital registration, billing, and clinical systems preferred
